DNS vs IP
If you have control over a DNS address, it makes it viable to move network to network and you can just update the DNS to point at the new (even internal) IP. When dealing with huge torrents this is a great option because it keeps you from having to edit or recreate the torrent if the tracker changes places.
I use proftpd with anonymous login, no write permissions, and 100 user limit (most people use clients that open multiple connections)
